Walking Through Walls: A Marina Abramović Experience is an exploration of the durational performance art pieces Abramović has produced over her 50-year career. My practice draws into question the inherent contradiction of reperforming live art, Abramović's radicalisation of the audience spectator dynamic and the evolution of her work across decades of performance.

This portfolio is an interactive audience experience. To achieve maximum immersion engage with the exercises in an open space with headphones and have a blindfold ready. First, engage with The Method then explore the portfolio however you wish. This is your unique experience with Marina's works.

TRIGGER WARNINGS: images of violence & nudity

To fully experience The Abramović Method online please stand in a relaxing and comforting open space with headphones.

When performed live Walking Through Walls would be experienced in a black box theatre space, on 2m x 2.6m hung projection screens with surround sound audio and audiences would be assigned labcoats to experience the performative experiments in.

My reinterpretation of The Abramović Method directly engages with the radical practice of live performance art and the legacy Marina's works hold within this field of performance. The Method primarily identifies the radicalisation of the performer-spectator dynamic which Marina has continually challenged throughout her career. Additionally, this practice introduces the process of using the body and mind as a site for performance which runs throughout both Marina's and my own work.
